Matt James Becomes the First Black Lead of ‘The Bachelor’ in Franchise History

Listen, with all the protests going on over the murder of George Floyd, the fact that there never has been a black, male lead and all the heat they were getting from Rachel Lindsay to "diversify" of late, they really had choice. But this guy?!? I mean, to pick a guy from Clare Crawley's season, that we don't know too much about just kind of tells me that they just wanted to pick any black dude out there so they could quickly get past this brouhaha and move on. In other words, I think the franchise could've made a public statement promising a new male lead of color for the next 'Bachelor' then come back in a few months, after doing proper research etc. and made their pick with better judgment and due diligence.
